Volunteer Management Academy
What is the Volunteer Management Academy?
Houston Association of Volunteer Administrators (HAVA) and Rice University have joined together to offer the Volunteer Management Academy, a comprehensive program (30 hour, eight weekly sessions) in volunteer management. Productive, enthusiastic volunteers are crucial to the success of any nonprofit organization or community-minded corporation. The Volunteer Management Academy is designed to provide the skills needed to effectively plan a volunteer program and to recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate volunteers. This course will instill principles of effective leadership and professional management essential to the lasting success of a volunteer program. Practical classroom exercises are designed to reinforce many of the principles presented in this course.
What other benefits will participants receive?
Academy participants will receive a notebook containing the academy text and lots of additional resource information, and a certificate of completion upon completion of all sessions.

The Volunteer Management Academy is offered every Spring at Rice University.

This certificate program is taught by leading volunteer administrators, representing some of Houston's largest and most effective nonprofit institutions.
