Volunteer Management Academy

The Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership, Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies Presents the Volunteer Management Academy

Successful volunteer management is a critical resource for nonprofit organizations. Experienced, professional volunteer managers will focus on the key elements of volunteer administration to help you prepare your organization to properly utilize volunteers and develop human resources management policies for your volunteer programs, including the fundamentals of recruitment, training, motivation, retention and evaluation. You will also explore solutions to typical challenges encountered by volunteer managers.

This training may be used to meet the requirements for renewing the Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) certification. One Professional Development Unit (PDU) is awarded for each 50-60 minute session or contact hour in topics related to volunteer resources management.

This course also qualifies for Continuing Professional Education requirements for renewal of the Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) certification for those in healthcare settings.

For more details about both these credentialing programs, visit the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration website at www.CVAcert.org

COURSE DATES: Four Tuesdays and two Thursdays, September 20-October 11, 6:00-8:00 p.m. (no class September 29)
